RROTW: India Oven in San Antonio, TX

I freakin’ love this place.  Best Indian food in town (according to me).  I usually go on Sundays for their buffet lunch.  My plate never looks this pretty - but I made sure it looked awesome for y’all.

This plate has their: rice, chicken, lamb, meatballs, spinach with (goat?) cheese, meatballs, and naan.  

I asked one of my Indian friends what he thought of it, but then he went into the different regions and I got confused.  I’ve been to two other Indian places in town, but they don’t compare.  One place had rice that tasted like the smell of feet and the other was too frou frou for my liking.

If you’re concerned about it being too spicy, it really isn’t.  Yeah, some stuff is hotter than the others, but it still has plenty of flavor.

The buffet is limited but the food is amazing.  I’m hoping to go back this Sunday.  Great food and the wait staff and owners are really nice (my family has become friends with them).

And if you really need another reason to go - on Sundays, they hand out champagne.

Broadway Daily Bread is my favorite bakery in SA.  I always go to the DeZavala location, since it’s close to campus.  I love the bread here — and I can get picky about my bread.  I also love their peppered turkey sandwich (comes with sprouts!).  Their cookies and cupcakes are pretty legit here, just a little too sweet for my liking.  The employees are always super nice too.  My favorite bread is white, but my mom loves the Birdman bread they have.
