I love driving these freeways in Houston all the time. I know where all of them go and the names of them!
So, potential Houston fatty and I went to the Maple Leaf Pub in Midtown this past Thursday for their steak and quiz night that they hold every Thursday. I heard about this via 365 Days of Houston on Facebook.
It wasn’t that bad and a pretty good deal. All for $14 bucks you get a steak, baked potato and any drink of your choice. The place was pretty dead when we showed up though. I thought it would get more packed as the site lead me to believe, but no. We didn’t stick around for the “quiz” portion though. It was a fun little adventure, but I don’t think we’ll be going back anytime soon. More importantly, the food was pretty good. I enjoyed my baked potato. Of course I’ve had better steaks but for a deal like that, I’d say it was pretty good.

As Rachel said, she’s down here in Houston for the labor day weekend. So, we had a reunion dinner since it’s been about 2 months since we’ve last seen each other. It was a night out in Bellaire! We had dinner at Tofu Village and then dessert at Juicebox.
Pictured above is strawberries/mangos mixed with shaved ice and condensed milk topped with ice cream. Juicebox has a wide variety of fruit desserts, smoothies, teas, etc. Definitely a place to check out if you’re in the area.

I did an Art Chair for the Furniture, Arts & Decor Expo taking place this weekend here in Houston at George R. Brown Convention Center. My chair and over 140 others will be auctioned off and the proceeds will benefit an organization called the Furniture Bank that provides furniture for families in need.
